About the Artist & Author
Welcome to my world, where the canvas, the written page, and fashion serve as the battlegrounds for the human experience.

Based in the Twin Cities, I have spent over 25 years exploring the depths of visual art and storytelling. For me, creativity isn’t just a career—it’s a necessity. My work is deeply rooted in the concept of duality, drawing inspiration from the quiet struggles against my inner demons. Through bold strokes, intricate lines, and vivid narratives, my art showcases the eternal battle between good and evil, dark and light.

The Birth of Odd Scapes Studio
To bring all of these creative worlds under one roof, I founded Odd Scapes Studio. I wanted a dedicated space where my fine art and written books could live side-by-side, but I also wanted a playground for new design ideas to flow into a completely different medium: wearable art.
Odd Scapes Studio bridges the gap between high art and everyday life. It’s a place where my deep, thematic designs and sharp, witty personality collide with fashion. From striking logos to unique apparel concepts, Odd Scapes transforms the canvas into something you can wear, bringing a bold, artistic edge to contemporary style.

The Art: From Fine Art to Public Spaces
As a visual artist, I refuse to be confined to a single lane. My portfolio spans a diverse range of styles and mediums, reflecting the unpredictable nature of inspiration. Whether I am capturing the raw emotion of a portrait, the serene complexity of a landscape, or pushing boundaries with surreal and abstract pieces, each work is an invitation to look closer.Over the past two and a half decades, my artwork has been showcased and sold throughout the region and beyond.

I work dynamically across multiple mediums, blending the textures and fluidities of:
Oils, Charcoal & Acrylics for rich, layered depth
Ink & Watercolors for sharp precision and ethereal washes

One of my most memorable pieces was an interactive community mural, on a 30 foot section of the collapsed Metrodome ceiling. It was created for the 2011 SoundTown Music Festival in Somerset, Wisconsin that was made possible through a partnership with Free Arts Minnesota.

The Words: Stories Shared Globally
When I am not at the easel or designing for the studio, I am spinning tension and mystery into fiction. As an author, I explore the same themes of light and shadow that define my visual art. To date, my books have found a global audience, selling internationally and connecting with readers who crave stories with psychological depth and gripping suspense.

Life Beyond the Studio
My life is a tale of two landscapes. I split my time between the vibrant energy of our family home in the city, and the quiet, rugged solitude of our remote cabin in Northern Minnesota. Both environments feed my soul in entirely different ways. Above all else, my greatest joy is my family—my brilliant wife and daughter, who are the absolute loves of my life. When I’m stepping away from my creative projects to recharge, you can usually find me hiking through the woods with my dogs, out on the lake fishing from my boat, or chasing the thrill of experiencing something entirely new.

"Whether through the stroke of a brush, the arc of a story, or the clothes on your back, my goal is to confront the shadows—and find the light waiting on the other side."
